TUCSON — The Democratic candidate for Congress in the district representing Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties said she increased her fund-raising by 50 percent.
In a press release issued Friday, JoAnna Mendoza said she raised “over $3.3 million in quarter three — the quarter record for any candidate ever for Arizona’s 6th.”
Official fund-raising reports for both candidates have not yet been publically released by the Federal Elections Commission.
The Wesleyan Media Project, at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, estimates nearly $18 million has been spent on media buys for the 2026 race for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District over the past two years, with about 60 percent of the spending coming from political action committees.
In the second quarter of 2026, Mendoza reported raising $2.02 million, while her opponent, incumbent U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., reported raising $1.09 million during the same time period.
The most recent polls on the race, released in July, showed Mendoza leading by 1 to 3 points.

Also on Friday, Ciscomani issued a press release thanking Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., for attending a rally Thursday in Tucson.
“More than 400 friends and supporters from across the district packed the room for our Delivering Results for AZ06 Rally with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson! We are fired up to defend AZ-06. Thank you to everyone who came out and brought the energy,” Ciscomani said in the release.
Monday, Oct. 5, is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 3 General Election. Early voting starts Wednesday, Oct. 7.
