SAFFORD — Graham County Health Department, Eastern Arizona College, the Safford Lions Club and United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties are teaming for a special event Saturday for Mental Health Awareness Month.
A Spring Memorial Walk will take place at the ranch house at EAC’s Discovery Park campus starting at 10 a.m.
“We’ll have a little program, and we’ll actually be releasing doves, which I’m super excited about because I think it will be beautiful,” said Jennifer Labrum, Mental Health coordinator for Graham County Health Department,” and then there’s a little half-mile walk that people can choose to participate in.”
The program includes rock painting in memory of loved ones, with the rocks then placed during the walk on EAC’s new Inspiration Trail.
After the walk, participants will gather in the grassy meadow for a picnic provided by the Lions Club. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
The event and picnic are free; and paints, markers, brushes and aprons will be provided.
