SAFFORD — The Graham County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted Monday to appoint Clay Mack to serve as District 3 Supervisor for the remaining 18 of Danny Smith’s term, following Smith’s resignation last month.
Supervisor John Howard thanked all the people who applied for the appointment to serve.
“It takes a lot of courage to step forward and try to be a public servant like this. There’s a lot of arrows thrown at you, no matter what decisions you make, and there’s always winners and losers,” Howard said.
Board Chairman Paul David said, due to the July 1 start of the fiscal year, Mack would be sworn in at a later date.
“It’ll be shortly, in order to have (Mack) participate fully in the meetings,” David said. “There’ll be a little reception and a swearing in, and it’ll be announced forthwith.”
