Low case count continues in February

SAFFORD — February continues to see the fewest number of new cases of coronavirus in Graham County in months.

The total number of new cases through February 10 are 68. Only September, with 50 new cases through the 10th, had fewer cases since the pandemic started in 2020.

Of February’s new cases, 53 percent have come from the 85546 Zip Code, while 24 percent have been in the 95552 Zip Code and 23 percent in the 85543 Zip Code.

The majority of cases continue to involve the young adult age group, with 47 percent of February’s cases in people 20 to 44 years old. Nineteen percent involve people 45 to 54 years old; while the age groups of 20 and younger, and those 65 and older, account for 13 percent each. The 55 to 64 age group has seen 8 percent of the cases.

Thirteen percent of Graham County’s population has experience COVID-19. Since the start of the pandemic, Graham County has experienced 5,185 cases and 68 deaths.

Greenlee County

Greenlee County has experienced 14 new cases of COVID-19 through Feb. 10, a 75 percent drop in new cases from January at the same time.

Since the start of the pandemic, Greenlee County has experienced 540 cases and six deaths.
