Learn what’s happening at the co-op during annual meeting Saturday

PIMA — Graham County Electric Co-op will conduct its annual meeting Saturday, at 9 a.m., at the Pima High School gymnasium.

“We try to have . . . raffle prizes to entice people to come, but we certainly like to hear from the public,” said Co-op CEO Phil Cook.

Members will hear a presentation from Cook on the changes the co-op experienced over the past year, including the acquisition of the Central Water System, the sale of the natural gas division to Southwest Gas and the recently approved change of the co-op’s name.

In addition, guest speakers will include representatives from Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association; and Arizona G&T Cooperatives, which owns AEPCO, the operator of the 625-megawatt Apache Generating Station in Cochise County. Copperatives in Southeastern Arizona purchase power from AEPCO.

“If you can’t make the meeting, you’re always welcome to come by the office and talk with us, and we’ll spend whatever time we need to answering questions,” Cook said.
