Labor Day Holiday Reminder Essential Travel Through CBP Arizona Ports

TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reminds the public that travel restrictions remain in place as the Labor Day holiday approaches.

Historically the Labor Day holiday is one of the busiest at the Arizona ports of entry as it wraps up summer travel for many. CBP officers and agriculture specialists continue with our mission in securing the borders, facilitating lawful trade and processing essential travel.  With the current travel restrictions in place until September 21, 2020, CBP encourages only those with essential travel to cross.  If travel is necessary, expect delays at our land border crossings.

To determine if travel is essential vs. non-essential, please reference the Federal Register Notice at

Essential Travelers can monitor wait times by visiting CBP’s Border Wait Time (BWT) web page at or download the BWT app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
