THATCHER — The Safford Lions Club announced Thursday the Produce on Wheels Without Waste (Pow Wow) event for Saturday, June 4, has been canceled.
The vehicle Borderlands Produce Rescue uses to deliver the fruits and vegetables has suffered mechanical issues and cannot make the trip from Nogales.
The Safford Lions Club will resume Pow Wow produce distribution in September. The program provides up to 70 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables for a $15 donation.
