John H. Runyon, Sr, John H. Runyon Sr., a longtime resident of Safford, entered into rest at the age of 71, on Wednesday morning, September 21, 2016.
John was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 29, 1944, to Ed and Elsie Runyon. He passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side. John married the love of his life, RoseAnn, in 1969. They moved their family to Arizona in 1978 to get out of the cold weather of Chicago and to be closer to other family members. John worked as a Body Technician and was employed throughout the years at L & L Auto, Browns Auto, Ski’s Import, and Kempton Chevrolet. He retired in 2002. John dedicated his life to his family. He enjoyed fishing and camping and had a love for the outdoors. He was a fun loving man with an awesome sense of humor. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved his time spent with them. He was loved by all who knew him and will be forever missed.
John leaves behind: his wife RoseAnn Runyon; his children Robert (Bob) Runyon, of Kingman, Jacqueline (Jackie) Russell-Wahl, of Montana, Joni Spoon-Kennedy, of Thatcher, Courtney Runyon, of Wisconsin, and Corine (Corky) Runyon, of Thatcher, fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by: his parents; his only brother; his only sister; and his sons, James John and John, Jr.
Family will receive friends in celebration of John’s life Friday evening, September 30, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home.
