PHOENIX — Greenlee County is projected to experience the greatest job growth than any other Arizona county between 2022-2024.

That’s according to the jobs forecast released Thursday by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.

New jobs in Greenlee County are expected to grow by 3.6 percent by the second quarter of 2024, double the growth of Pinal County, which is expected to grow jobs by 1.8 percent.

Graham County has the third-highest job growth projection at 1.6 percent.

While Greenlee and Graham top the list in terms of percentage, the actual number of projected new jobs is on the smaller side — 441 and 349, respectively.

Arizona is expected to see 90,625 new jobs created by next year, and Maricopa County is expected to have the lion’s share, at 72,670.

All but one of Arizona’s job sectors are expected to see growth over the coming year, led by manufacturing, which is projected to grow by 3.4 percent (13,300 new jobs); and trade, transportation and utilities, which is expected to add the greatest number of jobs at 18,557.

The only job sector expected to see a drop is the financial services sector, which is looking at a loss of 2,796 jobs, or 0.6 percent.
