SAFFORD — Fire fighting efforts seem to be working on the Jacobson fire on Mount Graham.
Coronado National Forest officials report the fire near Turkey Flat is holding at 7.3 acres. There is no containment thus far, but there was also no growth Tuesday.
Fire crews established fire lines around the cabins at Turkey Flat, and brought in portable water containers to fight any flare ups along the fire’s perimeter.
Due to the fire, the public is asked to stay away from the following areas:
- Turkey Flat Trail No. 330
- Ladybug Trail No. 329
- Ladybug Trailhead
- Angle Orchard Trailhead
- Turkey Flat Dispersed Camping Area
The fire was first reported at 9:35 p.m. Monday, May 26. Cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
