I-10 speed reduction this weekend for bridge work

TUCSON — Gila Valley drivers traveling to and from the Tucson area should plan for delays over the next two weekends.

Arizona Department of Transportation announced that the speed limit on Interstate 10, from mileposts 292-293, near Empirita Road, will be reduced 25 miles an hour in both directions, from 10 p.m. Friday, March 20, to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 21.

The same speed restrictions will be in place from 10 p.m. Friday, March 27, to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 28.

The roadway may also be reduced to one lane in each direction during the same time periods.

Crews will be pouring bridge decks as part of the Amole Interchange and Union Pacific Bridge Rehabilitation projects.
