Hot dogs to help with utilities is Oct. 12

SAFFORD — The City of Safford will be holding its sixth annual Give from the Heart Hot Dog Sale Thursday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fireman’s Park in front of Safford City Hall.

Hot dogs, nachos and sodas will be on sale to raise money for the city’s Give from the Heart program, which helps with utility bills for residents 62 and older who meet specific financial guidelines.

The Give from the Heart program is funded entirely by donations and, in addition to buying $2 hot dogs $3 nachos ($3.50 with jalepenos) and $1 sodas, residents can contribute when paying the monthly utility bill.

On the billing stub returned with the payment, residents can choose to make a one-time contribution of any amount, round up to the nearest whole dollar, or add $1 to the payment.
