SAFFORD — The Graham County Historical Society announced its annual meeting will take place Saturday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the ranch house on the Discovery Park Campus of Eastern Arizona College.

In addition to presentations on local issues of historical significance and the election of officers, the Historical Society will present its Heritage Award.

This year’s honoree is Margaret Butler “Marge” Schade.

Schade is the owner of the local Pepsi bottling plant and has been a long-time supporter of multiple causes, including the Historical Society, the Boys & Girls Club of the Gila Valley, and the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition. She also donated the land upon which the House of Hope sober living facility was developed.
