SAFFORD — Due to new last-minute safety guidelines imposed by the San Carlos Apache Tribe, the Graham County Historical Society announced the cancellation of its annual Spring Trek.
The plan was to tour Coolidge Dam on Saturday; however, the tribe is requiring all participants to have hardhats and safety glasses, as well as hiking boots.
The start time of the tour was also moved to earlier in the day, which would have meant leaving the Safford area no later than 7:30 a.m.
Officials with Graham County Historical Society said efforts are underway to reschedule the trek.
