SAFFORD — The Graham County Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center at Eastern Arizona College both announced staff moves.

In a letter to chamber members proposing appointment of two board members, Executive Director Vance Bryce announced the promotion of Brittany Hernandez from executive assistant to assistant director.

“When someone is doing your job better than you are, you have to give credit where credit is due,” Bryce wrote.

Hernandez has been responsible for bookkeeping, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and event vendor coordinator for the chamber, as well as serving as office manager of the visitor’s center.

She is also the owner of two businesses — Brit’s Party World, a party rental and decorating business, and Uptown Princess, a series of pageants for girls and young women.

On her social media, Torey Cranford, owner of Cakes with TLC and a chamber board member, announced she taking on a new responsibility, working with the SBDC.

“I can’t wait to work and learn from the amazing staff there and to help others follow their dreams and take that first step towards their futures,” Cranford wrote.

It’s the second major hiring at the SBDC this year, following the naming of Eric Bejarano as director last summer.
