SAFFORD — The Gila Valley Hiking Club is traveling far afield for the next hike.
The group will be heading to Superior on Saturday to hike Queen Creek Canyon to the Claypool Tunnel.
The Legends of Superior Trail hike is four miles round trip across fairly even terrain, with no major changes in elevation, making it perfect for first-time hikers.
The club will meet at the Pima Town Hall parking lot at 7:30 a.m. and car pooling is available for those who need transportation. Hikers are asked to bring water, a hat, sunscreen and wear sturdy walking shoes.
Hikers can bring a sack lunch or join with the group for a late lunch at a Superior restaurant after the hike.
