SAFFORD — The Gila Valley Hiking Club is giving everyone a chance to spot some deer and wild turkeys, when they hike from Snow Flat to Treasure Park this Saturday.
The hike is 2.5 miles round trip, and follows an old Jeep trail now closed to motorized vehicles.
In addition to the wildlife, hikers can explore a pond area, or take the trail downstream to the overlook for a view of the Sulfur Springs Valley. Hikers are asked to meet no later than 8 a.m. in the Graham County Fairgrounds parking lot, across from the LDS Church.
Good hiking shoes are required, due to rocky terrain, and hikers should bring a hat, sunscreen, lunch or snacks, and plenty of water.
