On Wednesday at approximately 6:30 pm, local law enforcement was dispatched to help Department of Public Safety Officers locate a Ford F250 after the drive managed to evade the DPS officer. The officer had been chasing the F250 at a high rate of speed when the driver of the pickup slid off a dirt road into a canal in the area of Bryce Eden Road and Hubbard Cemetery.
Rain had made the dirt road muddy and DPS requested a four wheel drive vehicle to help get to the location of the F250. Local law enforcement assisted DPS but was unable to locate the driver of the vehicle who fled on foot.
