PIMA — Gila Watershed Partnership is asking for volunteers to help with one more cleanup of the Gila Riverbanks this year.
The cleanup will take place below the Pima Bridge on Saturday, Nov. 9.
“We’ll go back where we were last September,” said Dr. Sarah Sayles, GWP executive director. “We had 70 some-odd people turn out for that one, we picked up a lot of trash, and there’s more again. People just use that site where we do restoration as a dump site.”
The cleanup will take place from 8-11 a.m. and volunteers are asked to RSVP at enedelia@gwpaz.org.
The cleanup is sponsored by GWP, Freeport-McMoRan, Graham County and the Town of Pima.
