GRAHAM COUNTY — A woman who purchased eight rifles, two handguns and a generator from a 16-year-old boy ended up turning them in to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office and Clifton Police.
The woman told deputies the 16-year-old told her he was selling the weapons to bail his mother out of jail. A short time after the purchase, and after she sold some of the weapons to other individuals, she said she received a call from a Clifton Police lieutenant, who said the weapons were reported as stolen.
The woman retrieved the sold weapons and brought them all to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, where they were photographed and stored until Clifton Police Chief Omar Negrete arrived to take possession of the firearms.
