Griffin to chair Water Committee, Diaz chairing Rural Affairs

PHOENIX — Ben Toma, Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, announced Tuesday committee assignments for the upcoming Legislative session, and the representatives serving Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties are getting one chairmanship each.

State Rep. Gail Griffin, R-Hereford, will remain as chair of the Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee. She will also serve as vice-chair of the Rules Committee; and serve on the Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.

Griffin’s seatmate in Dist. 19, Lupe Diaz, R-Benson, will chair the Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, and will serve on the Appropriations and Education committees.

The second regular session of the 56th Legislature will open Jan. 8.
