Greenlee has lowest unemployment in the state

CLIFTON – For the third time in the last five reporting periods, Greenlee County has the lowest unemployment rate in the state.

That’s according to Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.

Unemployment in Greenlee County was at 3.8 percent in January, just better than Maricopa County’s 4.0 percent.

Greenlee County also had the state’s lowest unemployment rate in September and October of 2019.

Graham County sits at 5.1 percent unemployment in January.

The high is Yuma County, which reported 13.6 percent unemployment.

Statewide, unemployment in January was at 4.5 percent, down four-tenths of a point from the same time last year, while the national unemployment rate was 3.6 percent.
