PHOENIX — For the third month in a row, the unemployment rate in Greenlee County was under 3 percent.
That’s according to data released Wednesday by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.
Greenlee County’s unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percentage point in November to 2.7 percent, the lowest jobless rate in the state for the 47th month in a row.
Data for October was unavailable, due to the federal government shutdown.
The jobless rate in Graham County fell by two-tenths of a point in November, to 3.9 percent. That’s good for third lowest in the state behind Greenlee and Maricopa County at 3.7 percent.
The unemployment rate in Cochise County dropped two-tenths of a point in November, to 5.2 percent.
Arizona’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a point in November, to 4.3 percent, while the national unemployment rate increased by two-tenth of a point to 4.6 percent.
Job gains were reported in seven economic sectors: Trade, transportation and utilities (up 10,600 jobs); government (up 2,400 jobs); professional and business services (up 1,600 jobs); leisure and hospitality (up 1,500 jobs); manufacturing (up 1,300 jobs); information (up 1,000 jobs); and natural resources and mining (up 100 jobs).
Reporting job losses were: financial activities (down 1,200 jobs), construction (down 1,100 jobs), and private educational services (down 100 jobs).
Health care and social assistance reported no job gains or losses.
