Fifth grade students in only four out of Arizona’s 15 counties have submitted essays for the AZ529 writing contest. To date, the committee has received at least one entry from the following counties:
- Maricopa
- Pima
- Pinal
- Cochise
The annual essay-writing contest for fifth graders invites students to submit an essay answering the prompt, “What is your dream job and how do you plan on achieving it one day?” Twenty winners, including at least one from each county in the state will receive a $529 prize in the form of an AZ529 savings account.
AZ529 hosts the annual contest to help spread awareness about Arizona’s Education Savings Plan and the importance of planning for future college/post-secondary savings. The $529 prize is a great start for any student to achieve their dreams after high school.
Contest entries may be submitted to https://az529.gov/essaycontest
The essay-writing challenge is now open and continues online until May 29, 2021.
