THATCHER — The five Republicans who qualified to be on the ballot for a run at the Congressional seat that will represent Graham and Greenlee counties have agreed to take part in a forum in Thatcher.
The forum will take place Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m., in the Lee Little Theater at Eastern Arizona College.
The forum is being staged by the Graham County Republican Party and moderators will be former Graham County Republican Party Secretary Jennifer Griffith and Graham County Supervisor John Howard.
Set to attend are:
● Juan Ciscomani, of Tucson, former adviser to Gov. Doug Ducey
● Lucretia Free, of Vail, publisher of American Woman Shooter magazine
● Brandon Martin, of Sierra Vista, a Fort Huachuca training coordinator
● Young Mayberry, of St. David, retired Lt. Colonel with the U.S. Air Force
● Kathleen Winn, of Tucson, founder of the Task Force Against Senior Abuse
Jordan Flayer, whom the Arizona Secretary of State’s website lists as a Republican write-in candidate, is not listed as one of the forum’s participants.
Admission to the forum is free; however, due to the limited number of seats, those planning to attend are asked to make a reservation at GOP Arizona Congressional District 6 Candidate Forum Registration, Thu, Jul 7, 2022 at 7:00 PM | Eventbrite.
Congressional District 6 includes most of Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties; a portion of Pima County, including a portion of eastern Tucson; a small portion of northern Santa Cruz County, and a portion of Pinal County, including Casa Grande.
The race is considered “open” because there is no incumbent following redistricting and the retirement of U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz.
Running on the Democratic side are Avery Anderson, Kirsten Engel and Daniel Hernandez.
Early voting for the Aug. 5 primaries starts July 6, and the last day to register is July 5.
