SAFFORD — On Nov. 1, the Graham County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a sworn deputy had allegedly been involved in a domestic situation. The Sheriff’s Office immediately made a request to the Safford Police Department to investigate the criminal allegation with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office.
That same day, law enforcement determined probable cause existed, an arrest was made and the deputy was booked into the Graham County Detention Center.
The employee has since been released from employment as a Graham County Sheriff’s deputy.
It was the second arrest of an area law enforcement officer over the past few days.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday the arrest of an Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer.
A woman involved in a hit-and-run incident reported the DPS trooper assigned to the incident engaged in “inappropriate sexual conduct” with the woman during the investigation. The trooper allegedly admitted to a physical interaction with the woman.
The trooper was charged with Unlawful Sexual Conduct Involving a Police Officer and booked into Cochise County Jail.
