PHOENIX —Graham County continues to struggle with influenza this season.
That’s according to the Arizona Department of Health Services, which reports the county has recorded 697 cases of flu through Jan. 4, which is 164 percent above the five-year average of 264 at this time of year.
Greenlee County has reported 184 cases of flu through Jan. 4, up 25.2 percent over the five-year average of 147.
Cochise County reported 195 though Jan. 4, which is 53.2 percent below the five-year average of 417 through this point in the flu season.
Statewide, Arizona has experienced 10,590 cases so far this flu season.
To have the best chance at avoiding the flu this season, the Department of Health Services recommends a flu shot, plus regular washing of hands for least 20 seconds, covering coughs with a tissue or sleeve, avoid close contact with those who are sick, and staying home when sick.
