Friday’s activities include a pickleball tournament, a variety show, a family rodeo and a family dance.
The pickleball tournament is scheduled from 6 am to 9 am at the Thatcher High School tennis courts. The cost is $30 per team. Tournament registration will close July 15, 2024 at 8 pm. To register for the tournament, click here.
The variety show is scheduled at 4:30 pm on Friday at the Safford Center for the Arts. Come watch amazing performances by local talent. Tickets are $3.00 each and can be purchased here.
The family rodeo starts a 7:00 pm on Friday at the Pima Rodeo Grounds. You can sign up for the events from 6:00 to 6:45 pm at the rodeo grounds. Events include Grand Entry, Boot Race, Stick Horse Race, Cowhide Race, Grease Pigs, Wild Chickens, Cowboy Musical Chairs, Ribbon Roping and Team Roping.
The Family Dance is scheduled on Friday from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm at the Pima Stake Center, 375 W 450 S in Pima.

A Co-ed Volleyball Tournament will be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in various school gyms depending on the division. The cost is $50 per team. Registration closes on July 15, 2024 at 8:00 pm. A 3-on-three Basketball Tournament will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at various school gyms depending on the division. For information about rules and divisions, visit GilaValleyPioneerDays.com.
A parade is scheduled at 5:30 pm in Thatcher. The parade will start at Thatcher High School and continue down Church Street to Stadium Avenue and end at the Thatcher Splash Pad.
Following the parade, Dinner and Games are scheduled at 6:00 pm at the EAC football field. The evening will end with a fireworks display after dark.
