From Bulldog to Bobcat; Tad Jacobson Named New AD at Benson High

Tad Jacobson and the 2010 Seniors after winning the 3A South Championship.

After coaching nearly every sport at Safford and Fort Thomas High School, life-long Gila Valley coach and educator Tad Jacobson is headed to Benson High School. Jacobson led the Safford Varsity Girls Basketball team to back to back Final Four appearances in 2010 and 2011 in his last two years at the helm.  Jacobson released the following statement about his move.

“I am breaking a 7 month silence to tell my friends that I am officially the Assistant Principal/ Athletic Director at Benson High School. I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to growing in my professional career. I will miss my personal friendships and relationships with peers, friends, and most importantly the wonderful students I’ve been able to teach at Safford High. I love Safford. Always have, always will. I also love challenges, and trying to accomplish difficult things. This is going to push me and make me better. I hope to leave an impression on the Benson schools that is positive and unforgettable. Thanks to all my colleagues for the memories. Wishing everyone a happy school year 2018-19.

Jacobson will work closely with Benson High Principal Ben Rodriguez who is the former football coach at Duncan, Valley Union and Rio Rico High School. Benson will play at Thatcher this football season and Jacobson will be wearing just a little darker shade of blue.
