THATCHER — Start saving those dollars because the catalogue has dropped for the fourth annual Friends of the Library Radio Auction.

The live radio auction will take place Friday, Sept. 6, from 8-10:30 a.m.

Simulcast on Kat Kountry 94.5 FM, KATO 1230 AM and streamed live on www.GilaValleyCentral.net, the radio auction raises money for the Friends to donate to the Safford City-Graham County Library, for the library to buy books, audio and video items, as well as pay for programming and concerts free for children and adult patrons.

More than 40 items are up for bid this year, including a hot-air balloon ride donated by AZ Air Ventures, a copper cathode donated by Freeport-McMoRan, a recliner donated by Sparks Homestore, restaurant gift certificates and more.

The big items are always the sports tickets, donated by Reed Richins and Double R Communications. This year there will be four tickets, a parking pass and four T-shirts for the Arizona Cardinals-Washington Commanders game on Sept. 29; and four tickets to the ASU-BYU football game Nov. 23.

Three lines will be open to take bids — 928-428-4994, 928-428-9494 and 928-428-4544 — and the auctioneer will be Brooks Knight.

The first auction in 2021 raised about $8,000, the second auction brought in about $9,300 and last year’s raised $10,255.
