SAFFORD — The Safford Unified School District is once again offering free meals during the summer to any Gila Valley child 18 and younger.
The program is available Monday through Friday, begins May 31 and will end July 28. There will be no meals served July 4.
Children will two entrée options — one hot and one cold — plus a vegetable, fruit and milk.
Breakfast will be served at Ruth Powell School from 7-8 a.m., and at Safford Middle School from 7-9 a.m. Lunch will be served at Ruth Powell School from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and at Safford Middle School from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
There is no drive-through option this year and children do not have to be enrolled in Safford schools to receive free meals.
