SAFFORD — When stay-at-home orders due to the pandemic were initiated last spring, the USDA expanded the free and reduced meals program for students to all children under the age of 18, free of charge.

Area schools districts announced those free meals will to continue through December.

All children under 18 are eligible for a free breakfast and a free lunch Monday through Friday. For children not in the classroom due to age or because of distance learning, curbside pick-up is available at area schools.

The program will continue through Dec. 31. Contact the local school district for pick-up locations
