SAFFORD — The Safford Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee announced a free family movie night will take place this month.
The animated film “The Bad Guys” will be shown Saturday, June 17, in Glenn Meadows Park starting at 7:30 p.m. There will also be free popcorn, soda and water, while supplies last.
The free movie night is sponsored by Swire Coca-Cola and STARS.
“(STARS) are students from Safford,” said Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee President Nora Rogers. “It stands for Students Taking the Road to Success. So these are students who are wanting to get involved in the community.”
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee is currently overseeing design of a new park proposed for 8th Avenue and Discovery Park Boulevard. The committee conducts meetings open to the public twice a month at the City of Safford Annex.
