Frances Chavarria Ortega

Frances Chavarria Ortega, a lifetime resident of Clifton. Peacefully entered Heavenly Paradise on Friday, March 24, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Frances age 84, was born on August 4, 1932, the first child of Francisco and Lenore Chavarria.

Frances married to Ismael A. Ortega for 65 years, was the mother to seven children; Elia (Luis) Montoya, Toby (Esther) Ortega, Anthony (Terri) Ortega, Paul (Janet) Ortega, MaryAnn (Hector) Provencio, Patricia (Chad) Zimpfer, and Peter (JoAnn) Ortega. She was grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Survived by her sisters; Magdalena Casteneda, Barbara Andazola, and a brother Frank Chavarria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco “Kiko” and Lenore “Nori” Chavarria and a grandson and great grandson.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, the Golden Girls, Guadalupanas, Beneficio Propio, and an avid fan of her Alma Mater, the Clifton Trojans.

Viewing will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton, Rosary at 9 a.m. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church with interment following at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
