Food supplies low, donations needed at Our Neighbor’s Farm and Pantry

SAFFORD — Increased demand from the community has combined with a decrease in donations to create situation of dire need at Our Neighbor’s Farm and Pantry.

The pantry is low on food to be given to families in need, and new Executive Director Kai Littrell is calling on the community for help.

“They can donate through our webpage, or they can . . . drop off a check or mail in a check, and we also take credit cards,” Littrell said, “and they can also drop off food.”

Non-perishable food drop-offs must take place during normal hours of operation, so a pantry volunteer can take in the items. Any food left outside the pantry will be discarded.

Food drives by churches, organizations and businesses are also encouraged. The pantry is in need of a number of canned and non-perishable items, including:

● Soups

● Baked beans

● Canned potatoes/yams

● Pork and beans

● Refried beans

● Dried beans

● Lentils

● Corn

● Spaghetti O’s

● Ramen

● Ravioli

● Powdered milk

● Canned meats

● Baby food

● Peanut butter

Baby items, including diapers and formula, may also be donated for distribution to young families in need.

The pantry donates food free to those in need twice a week — on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, and from 1-3 p.m. each day — and those receiving food may do so once each month.

To make a cash donation, go to Our Neighbor’s Pantry (ourneighborsfarm.org).
