THATCHER — Having fun will be helpful to local families dealing with serious illness.
Families Fighting Cancer Together will host its third Family Fun Night this Saturday.
“Just like the Fair, we’re going to do a $30 wristband, and then you can go to all the events as many times as you want. Or you can get tickets for $1,” said Luke Hatcher, founder and director of Families Fighting Cancer Together.
Those who bring a new, in package toy or stuffed animal for donation will receive five free tickets.
The event will feature a dunk tank, potato launcher, bounce houses, a children’s train ride, bubble soccer and more.
The third annual Family Fun Night will take place Saturday, from 5-9 p.m., at the Thatcher Recreation Complex at Reay Lane and 8th Street.
Families Fighting Cancer Together provides financial assistance to families with children who have been burdened with life-altering diagnoses. The nonprofit has paid for the installation of sidewalks and wheelchair ramps; upgraded bathrooms to ADA compliance; paid for gasoline, meals and hotels for families traveling out of the area for medical treatments and more.
