Eustacio C Reyes “Tacho” was born in Steins NM in 1934 to Josepha and Diego Reyes. He graduated high school in 1956 from Clifton High School and was a proud Trojan. Between 1956-1958 he served his country in the Navy aboard the Kearsarge (cva-33) carrier. After returning he went to work at the magma underground copper mine in San Manual. Shortly after arriving in mammoth he married Mary Lou and then they had 4 children; Cathy StJour (Stan) Terry Hardcastle (Clarke) Rachel Reyes (Peter) and Raymond Reyes (Cindy). In his later years he met the love of his life Charlotte. The two would become married in 1986 and life together happily until her death in 2003. He then moved back to Clifton to be closer to his family. He spent the last couple of years with Barbara Rose and her family as caretakers. The special care he received within her home comforted Tacho and was greatly appreciated. He leaves behind his loving family of 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother and Sisters Victor Reyes, Julia & Ted Luna, and Tootsie and Tigi Verdugo. He is remembered for his work ethic, honesty, storytelling, love of singing (especially Libro Abierto), and affinity for playing cards and pool.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m on Saturday, February 4, 2107 at the Ward’s Canyon Cemetery with military honors.
