SAFFORD — The Christmas holiday and the Desert Southwest will come together in a big way Saturday evening.
Maverick Motorsports announced a SxS Christmas Cruise to view the holiday lights.
Things start with side-by-side drivers and passengers meeting at the old Manor House at 5:30 p.m. for hot drinks and snacks. There, the best decorated side-by-side will be awarded a Maverick Motorsports $100 gift card.
At 6 p.m., drivers will head out to view the decorated homes listed on the 2021 Light Up the Gila Valley map, sponsored by Country Financial, Graham County Electric Co-op and Double R Communications.
Seventy-seven homes registered to be on the map, from Pima in the west to San Jose in the east, and from Bryce in the north to Swift Trail Junction to the south.
Twenty of those homes will be judged the best decorated in the Gila Valley, and awarded a $100 gift card each. Winners will be announced on the Reed Richins show on Kat Kountry 94.5 FM on Monday morning.
There is no cost to participate in the SxS Christmas Cruise.
