Elvira Dominguez Gonzales, age 79, of Pima, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, in Tucson with her family by her side.
Elvira was born November 1, 1937, in Solomonville, Arizona, to Evaristo and Amelia Dominguez. She attended school in Solomonville. She met the love of her life, Frank R. Gonzales, and they later married on December 10, 1955. This union was blessed with two sons and five daughters; Frank Gonzales, Jr., Louie Gonzales, Carmen Garcia, Sarah Bowman, Dolores Arrellin, Vera Gonzales and RoseMary Gonzales.
Elvira worked jobs that included being a maid, doing laundry at various motels and at the nursing home. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Elvira is survived by: her son, Louie Gonzales; her daughters, Carmen Garcia of Pima, Sarah Bowman of Pima, Dolores Arrellin (Angel) of Amado, Arizona, Vera Gonzales (Russ) of Clifton, and RoseMary Gonzales of Thatcher; her twenty-one grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren (with five deceased). She was very blessed.
Elvira is preceded in death by: her son, Frank Gonzales, Jr.; and her loving husband, Frank R. Gonzales.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elvira was celebrated Monday, December 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Robert Rodriguez.
Elivira was cremated and her ashes were laid to rest with her husband at the Safford Cemetery.
