Elizabeth Cassidy Huntington, of Safford, entered into rest Friday morning, March 29, 2024, at her residence with her family around her. She was 80.
Betty was born on January 17, 1944, in Stirling, Scotland. She was one of three children born to Edward and Agnes Rogers. Following her schooling, she met Joseph Huntington in 1965, while he was stationed at High Wycombe, England. Joe was serving in the United States Air Force. On April 1, 1967, Joe and Betty were joined in holy matrimony. To this union were born three children; Tina, Michael and Joanne.
Betty enjoyed her time with family and friends playing bingo, at least three times a week. She also enjoyed the casino, reading books and watching her favorite programs on TLC.
Betty was preceded in death by: her parents, Edward John Rogers and Agnes Christina Cassidy; her brother-in-law, David Hudson; and her best friend, Sharlotte Perez.
She is survived by: her husband of 57 years, Joe Huntington; her three children, Tina (Robert) Wright, Michael Huntington, and Joanne (Michael) Spurgeon; her sister, Marie Hudson; her brother, George Rogers; and her two grandchildren, Zachary (Shyenne) Huntington and Iain Huntington.
Graveside funeral services for Betty were conducted Monday, April 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Safford Cemetery by Rev. Nicodemus Shaghel.
