A small electrical fire on the northwest corner of the Thatcher Elementary School campus prompted an evacuation of the building. Students were reportedly relocated to the school cafeteria and middle school gym for several hours while emergency crews responded to the situation. The fire was reported at approximately 11:45 am.
Thatcher Fire Department and Graham County Electric Coop responded to the school to take care of the situation. No injuries have been reported and students were returned to class at about 1:20 pm.
