Edward Navarrete Jr

Edward Navarrete Jr. of Clifton AZ was born on January 24, 1938, to Edwardo Navarrete Sr. and Sabina Chacon Navarrete, entered into eternal rest on June 2, 2023. He was 85 years old.

Shortly after graduating from Morenci High School in 1957, Edward enlisted in the US Marines. Within months, after the passing of his mother, he was honorably discharged to support his siblings. From there he began his career with Phelps Dodge working in various departments and eventually retired as a Lead Warehouse Clerk. His dedication for education motivated him to enroll in classes at Eastern Arizona College. In 1975 Edward met and married the love of his life Norma Roman. To this union they had their son, Edward III. Edward was blessed with three grandchildren: Anavictoria, Edward IV and Thomas.

As an active member of his community, Edward wore many hats. Most notably as Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the prestigious St. George Award. He was a proud member of the Clifton Booster Club, Sacred Heart Fundraising and Community Bereavement Committees, Sacred Heart Choir, member and President of the Lions Club, Greenlee County Supervisor Candidate, Greenlee County Democrat Party, and Grand Marshal of Clifton Light Parade. He will be remembered for his humor, his joy of singing, dancing, and his lifelong dedication for cheering on the Arizona Wildcats and his Lute Olsen attributes.

Edward is survived by his son, Edward Navarrete III (Alondra) of Sahuarita, Arizona. His 3 grandchildren, Anavictoria, Edward IV, and Thomas. His siblings, Teresa Chavez (Ignacio), Angelita Trejo (Alfred) , Al Navarrete (Monica) , Josie Mendoza, Cecilia Peru (Bobby), Ernie Navarrete (Becky), Natalia Navarrete (Danny), Edwina Gray (Wayne) as well as many nephews, nieces, God Children and his dog, Duke.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, siblings Gloria Perez and Alfred Navarrete, his dog Zoey and many beloved pets.
