Edna Martineau Burrell, born October 18, 1918, daughter of Charles Henry Martineau and Florence Whetten Martineau, joined her eternal companion, Melvin Burrell, Sunday, March 11, 2018. She was 99.
She will be missed by: her children, Louise (Phillip) Larson, Sharon (Ralph) O’Donnal, Karon (Burt) Neptune, Max (Patty) Burrell, Florence (Paul) Hathcock and Kenny (Julie) Burrell; 33 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Melvin; daughter, Louise Larson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
During her 99 years she witnessed many changes from the “Horse and Buggy” days to “Space Age.” She loved to write stories and poetry and shared her life experiences with her posterity. Edna brought happiness and inspiration to all around her. She took the time each day to pray for her entire family and friends
Edna served 3 missions for her church, served in the Mesa Temple and loved serving the Lord in her other various callings.
Services will be conducted at the L.D.S. Stake Center, 1050 S. Hobson Mesa, AZ, on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Graveside services for Edna will be conducted on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in the Safford Cemetery.
