Edith Cluff Nelson, a resident of Mesa, passed into eternal life Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022, at her residence. Edith was 92.
Edith Cluff Nelson was born January 15, 1930, in Colonia Garcia, Chihuahua, Mexico. A true daughter of God, Edith served in what was then the Central American Mission of The Church of Jesus Church of Latter-day Saints. In 1955, she would be sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple, to the love of her life, L. Keith Nelson. A loving wife and mother – a poet – Edith was humble, comfortable in her own skin, and independent to her last breath; and she joyed in the company of her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her mother and father, Archibald Carlisle Cluff and Venus Johanna Nielsen. And five brothers and three sisters: Cloard Archie, Oscar Leath, Vesta Morris, Dale N., Ferrin J., Ora Lee Boyle, Val Rey, and Margaret Chesley, respectively. She is survived by her brother Ralph Cluff, her four adult children, Becky (Richard Ives), Kristina (Loren Marsters), Lanny (Cheryl Morehouse) Nelson and Tammy (Michael Fitzgerald); 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. In celebrating her life, it must be said that Edith possessed a wisdom of people and life that comes from her 92 years on this earth, serving those who needed help, her family, and the Lord.
