THATHCER — Late Friday afternoon Eastern Arizona College announced they have schedule a press conference for Tuesday, August 17th, to announce an additional athletic program to their department.
The press release states this program will fill the void left by EAC football with the collapse of the Western States Football League in 2018. This new program will compete in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference and will greatly enhance student life on EAC’s Thatcher Campus.
There was no indication in the announcement to which sport would be added or if it will be a Men’s or Women’s sport.
The sports that are listed on the NJCAA website that EAC does not currently field a team for are Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Cross Country, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, Track & Field and Wrestling
The announcement is scheduled to be made by President Todd Haynie at 12:45pm Tuesday.
