EASI STEM camps taking registration

THATCHER — The Eastern Arizona Science Initiative is taking sign-ups for a pair of science camps this summer.

The Chauncey Ranch STEM Camp will take place May 30 through June 2, in Mayer, and is open to students in seventh to 10th grade. Cost is $60 per student and there is a limit of 50 students.

The camp will feature kayaking, a climbing wall, archery, zip line, a low rope course, swimming, night hikes and more.

The Chauncey Ranch STEM Camp is an overnight event, with boys and girls in separate sleeping facilities.

The EASI Summer Science Camp, for students in sixth through ninth grade, will take place June 12-14 at Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus. Cost is $40 per student and there is a limit of 50 students.

The theme of this year’s camp is “Piecing together the puzzle of the world,” and will include hands-on STEM activities involving native habitat, rubber-band rockets, mousetrap cars, foil-boat races, live native reptiles, an archery challenge, the StarLab Planetarium and more.
