EAC’s art department features one of its own in art exhibit

THATCHER, AZ—EAC’s Art Department is featuring the work of one of its adjunct instructors, Andra Jensen, in a new show entitled An Exhibition in Sharpie. The work is hanging in the Activities Center Lobby through October 16, 2015. The display is free to the public during regular building hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.) daily. This exhibition showcases drawings of a variety of subjects rendered in Sharpie permanent marker. “Permanent marker is one of the most challenging mediums I’ve ever used,” says Jensen. “Maybe that’s why it feels so fulfilling; it was hard to put the pen down, even to get a night’s sleep.”

Jensen currently teaches drawing, watercolor, and oil painting at EAC as well as private lessons in the Gila Valley. “EAC and the community are fortunate to have Andra, who is an alumni of EAC, as an adjunct instructor,” says EAC art instructor, Kenny Rhodes. “This display showcases her talent and creativity. Because of the variety of styles and subject matter there is something for everyone to enjoy.”

The artist can be reached at andra.jensen@eac.edu.
