Eastern Arizona Director of Athletics and Arizona Community College Athletic Association President, Jim Bagnall, has announced that Eastern Arizona College Volleyball Coach Shari Kay is a member of the 2021 ACCAC Hall of Fame class.
Kay has been the volleyball coach at EAC for 20 years and has led the Gila Monsters to 5 ACCAC Championships, 5 Region I Championships, 3 District Championships and 3 trips the the NJCAA National Tournament.
She was also named the ACCAC Coach of the Year in 2005, 2009 and 2011 and District C Coach of the year in 2010 and 2011.
“We are excited that Shari has received this honor from the ACCAC”, said Bagnall. “She has done a good job of recruiting and developing student-athletes to perform at a high level of success”. “Her teams bring an exciting level of play that is fun to watch for our fans”.
Kay was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 1999 as a player and a coach. She is the 2nd EAC volleyball coach to receive that honor. Jerry Hekekia was honored in 1997.
