THATCHER — While some students and faculty in high schools and colleges across the nation have walked out of classrooms due to increased cases of coronavirus on campuses, Eastern Arizona College said there are no plans to return to distance learning.

In an e-mail to Gila Valley Central, EAC officials said, “For now, masks are not required if we are fully vaccinated. Masks are required of unvaccinated employees, and strongly encouraged for students and other guests. Facilities will remain at 75-percent capacity until further notice.”

Spring semester classes begin Jan. 18, and late registration can be accomplished through Jan. 25. EAC offers 18 career-focused associate degrees and 34 vocational certificates.

To register, call EAC’s Records and Registration Office at 928-428-8270, or register online at www.eac.edu. To access the online, searchable class schedules, visit www.eac.edu/schedule.
