Thatcher, Ariz.— Eastern Arizona College, in partnership with the Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation, invites the community to join in celebrating the 11th Annual National Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of festive events highlighting culture, tradition, and community.
Heritage Craft – Sept. 2–19
The celebration begins with a Heritage Craft activity from Sept. 2 through Sept. 19 in the Alumni Library. Community members are invited to stop by and create their own Hispanic heritage craft. This hands-on activity offers a fun way for participants of all ages to engage with cultural traditions and take home a personalized keepsake.
Kickoff Event – Sept. 18
On Thursday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m., the community is invited to the Lee Little Theater for the official Kickoff Event. Guests are encouraged to arrive early at 10:30 a.m. to enjoy live mariachi music before hearing from featured speakers who will set the tone for this year’s month-long observance.
Dinner & Show – Sept. 27
The festivities continue with a Dinner & Show on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in EAC’s Activities Center. Guests will enjoy an evening of live mariachi, vibrant dancing, and a delicious meal. Tickets are $65 per individual or $520 per table of eight, with proceeds benefiting EAC scholarships.

Día de los Muertos Car Show – Nov. 1
The celebration concludes with a Día de los Muertos Car Showon Saturday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at EAC’s Guitteau Gymnasium Parking Lot. Attendees can enjoy classic autos, food trucks, a menudo bar, and live mariachi performances in a lively cultural atmosphere.

These events are part of Eastern Arizona College and the Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation’s continuing efforts to honor Hispanic heritage and promote cultural understanding in Graham County and beyond.
